Well we all love Hockey Night In Canada. I myself look forward to the 1st period intermission just to hear what Grapes have to say. Well Don Cherry is gettin pretty old (75 years old) , his voice gets hoarse when he gets excited and I can imagine his blood pressure / stress goes through the roof.
He’s controversial , loud, insulting and you think he’d have to retire soon. I personally don’t want to see him retire but then I got to thinking who would be able to get remotely close to his presence during the 1st intermissions each saturday night.
My call would be Dr. Denis Leary. Sure he’s american but he’s a sports guy , has his own backyard hockey rink with piping to keep the ice frozen. Denis Leary has similar qualities to Cherry and he could never come close to the presence but I think he’d be best suited.
